Rob Stummer

Director of Growth

Rob Stummer is SMC’s Director of Growth. He oversees strategic growth initiatives and market expansion across Australia and New Zealand, working closely with Regional Directors to ensure excellence in sales, service delivery, and the achievement of ambitious growth targets. He is also responsible for driving strategic alliances and partnerships to enhance SMC’s market position and accelerate business growth.

Rob joined SMC in 2023 with over 25 years of experience in ERP, Enterprise Software, and Fintech. He has a strong track record of scaling businesses through innovation, operational efficiency, and M&A, specialising in evaluating, structuring, and integrating acquisitions to drive growth and competitiveness.

His career highlights include launching the footprint of a global fintech company, Pagero, in Australia and New Zealand (now part of Thomson Reuters). As Managing Director ANZ, he established the company’s presence, secured early market wins, and scaled the business to profitability.

During his tenure as CEO Asia Pacific at global ERP vendor SYSPRO, Rob led a team of over 100 staff, driving exponential year-on-year revenue growth and expanding the business predominantly across Southeast Asia. Prior to SYSPRO, he spent over a decade as Managing Director ANZ for global ERP vendor IFS, where he transformed the business from a loss-making operation into a high-performing region, achieving over 40% average annual growth.

In addition to his commercial leadership, Rob acts as a Trusted Advisor on key projects, leveraging his deep domain expertise to support SMC’s clients in making strategic decisions. His ability to align business needs with technology-driven solutions has consistently delivered long-term value and strengthened client relationships.

As a passionate supporter of innovation, Rob actively invests in and mentors tech startups as an angel investor, helping emerging businesses scale and succeed in competitive markets.

Rob holds a Master’s degree in Information & Communications Technology from the University of Melbourne and is a graduate of the AICD– Australian Institute of Company Directors’ program.
