EDL Powers Up: Modernised Processes and Systems to Drive Future Success

 

EDL is a leading global producer of sustainable distributed energy, dedicated to a world of new energy for its customers, stakeholders, and communities. The company owns and operates a global portfolio of over 100 power stations in Australia, North America, and Europe.

THE CHALLENGE

EDL’s strategic objective included making the organisation more efficient through optimising and standardising their business processes across their global operations. They recognised that to achieve this objective they needed to invest in uplifting their enterprise systems footprint.

Before making a significant investment in technology, EDL understood the need to review the current situation holistically and consider the options available for an optimised future state, considering their processes, people, technology, and data. They also recognised the need for expert advice in establishing and implementing this enterprise-wide, business process and systems modernisation program.

SMC SOLUTION

To bring EDL closer to their desired optimal future ways of working, they engaged Solution Minds Consulting (SMC) – as an independent transformation consultant.

SMC undertook a comprehensive business process analysis project, which included the delivery of an Analyse and Blueprint (A&B) Report. This included defining detailed business requirements for their, Finance, HR / Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Inventory & Warehouse Management, Enterprise Asset Maintenance, Project Costing and Reporting / BI functional areas.

SMC then recommended a digital transformation roadmap for EDL’s consideration to help the organisation achieve its strategic digital transformation goals.

Finally, SMC assisted EDL in selecting their future enterprise systems platform, planning for the deployment of the platform and providing strategic change management and project execution advice to the organisation during the implementation phase.
